Clara Morris

Hi, my name is
Clara Morris!

And dailycookflavor is my little corner of the internet!

I launched dailycookflavor in January 2017 after leaving my job as a marketing analyst in Chicago. I’d been cooking for my family since I was a teen, but it wasn’t until a rainy weekend in 2016 that I realized I wanted to share those recipes with the world. The first post was a simple carrot‑ginger soup that got a handful of comments from friends, and that tiny spark grew into a full‑time blog.

Fast‑forward to today, dailycookflavor reaches about 85,000 unique visitors each month and has a newsletter community of 12,000 food lovers. In 2019 we hit 10 k monthly visitors, which gave me the confidence to start a YouTube channel in early 2020. By the end of 2023 we’d published three e‑cookbooks and were featured on the Food Network’s “Home Cooking” segment, plus we won the 2022 “Best Food Blog” award from the Culinary Writers Guild.

I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my husband, Mark, and two rescue dogs, Basil and thyme. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge, digging through vinyl crates for classic jazz, or strolling the local farmer’s market for fresh herbs. My favorite things are Sunday‑morning pancakes, a good bottle of pinot, and the sound of a well‑timed whisk.
